375 Days to go

The thing I'm most excited about today is that I bought my dress. Yup it's done I have bought my dress and I'm so very happy. Things couldn't be better right now. I have gotten so much done. Now all I need to do is get a deposit to the photographer and be done with that. Then I need to handle the florist, the cake, the invitations, and favors, save the dates, and then well it's down to miscellaneous decorations for the event. Doesn't seem like a lot but I'm stressing.

409 days and the stress is mounting

I know it's rediculous to think that with 409 days left to go I could be stressed, but I am. Let me tell you why. We have roommates, Both of them work Jobs in the Food service industry. Due to the current Economic Climate they aren't exactly making the Tips that they would normaly. However that is why we Budget right? They know about how much each bill is each month yet they cannot budget based on a low base amount. I am trying to put money asside for a wedding yet I cannot do that because i end up fronting all the bills. When the bills are paid I am out of money, then I have to wait until they have the cash to pay me back. I've been carrying a check around for 3 weeks that needs to be deposited, no such luck. I'm pissed. I feel that I have every right to be too. Somehow I don't think they feel the same way. Now I'm waiting for the Cash for the Current bills. I've done so much for them. I gave them a laptop, they stayed for free with us forever. They're both working and they can't figure out how not to go out and drink but Pay their bills. I was supposed to have close to $1200 put away by now and I have nothing, Nada, maybe $35.00 That's it. It's upsetting. So I will be putting my foot down this weekend and telling them that if I don't have the money by the time the bill is due then I will be shutting off that service. Or they Lose Priveledges. If they're going to take advantage of me then I'm going to teach them that is not the way you live.

424 Days to go

I feel a little more accomplished today. This weekend I managed to put another notch in the belt of things to get done and Booked my DJ for the wedding. We also met with the Ceremony musician and got our Processional, and recessional music put together and the Cocktail hour music approved. So that's done. I have picked out my colors. Picked the Bridesmaid dresses(as long as they look good on everyone), Picked out my dress, found Tuxedos for the boys, picked my wedding party, booked my venue, and chosen my menu. I need to call about the Florist and the Cake. I think I can set that up sometime the week after next. That should work. The only big thing left looming is the photographer. I can't believe how expensive Photography is. It's insane. The Photographer that we met with On Saturday wants a $1500 deposit. That's just outrageous. No one else has requested more than $500. I still haven't found one I think is worthy but that's because I didn't book the first one I saw. Stupid me.

so I'm in the process of trying to put it all together. I just can't seem to make a decision.

Time to stop being so wishy washy and get my stuff together.

432 Days

The days are passing me by.

They seem as if they are going so slow but then next thing I know I'm looking at my Calender and a whole other month has gone by. Then I panic for a few minutes. This has happened to me every month especially when I was out of town for almost all of the month last moth. I keep freaking out because I realize I have to put money aside or I have to Get a deposit together. It's frustrating. The important thing is that things are falling in to place. This weekend we have meetings with our Ceremony Musicians and then with the DJ. This Should be fun. I'm more looking forward to the Ceremony Musicians as they'll be playing when the wedding takes place. I think We're going to use the DJ to Play our Recessional Away from the Ceremony site at the Venue. I would love something Bright and Happy to be playing. I'll figure it out I'm sure That can all be worked out with the DJ. I have a feeling we're going to need his PA system anyway. I didn't think about that. See one more thing to add to the list. Oh fun times. Well I have plenty of time to figure that out. Ugh I have to call to set up cake tastings, and Food tastings, with the baker and the caterer. This is going to be fun.

435 days to go

So far this is what I 've managed to get taken care of for the wedding. Our Venue is booked, they do both the Ceremony and the reception so it works out wonderful I didn't have to hunt down 2 different places and it keeps the cost down. Also included is Dinner, The cake, Some of our Decorations, the Wedding Planner and a small group of musicians to play durring the Ceremony and the Cocktail hour, while the wedding party pictures are being taken. I've had two meetings with our Wedding planner and They have been great. I even started to pick out my table linens.

What I have left to do (and you would not believe how quickly people are booked for September) is line up a photographer, DJ, and the Florist. I need to do that UGH!!!!!!!!!! I had an amazing Photographer picked out but because of my horrid travel schedule I wasn't able to book them in time and low and behold they were booked by another couple while I was in the process of setting up a meeting with them. I was so upset. I think however I have found another photographer and I hope that their pricing is comparable if not I'm going to cry. I have not found anyone who's pictures were as good a quallity at a price I can afford. It's so not fair. Oh well. Something will turn up. I'm sure of it.

I have a good feeling about the Florist, I will have to get with her next week and see if I can't set up a meeting with them for Sunday the 20th so that I can pick out my flowers. I've got to get into the Bridal Store this week and buy some Sashes so that I can match flowers and Ribbon to my colors. Oh boy this is going to be interesting. I'm hoping I get all the stress out of the way soon. It will be much nicer to enjoy everything the last couple of months and not stress out. The only thing I should be worrying about the last 3 weeks is my head count. My hair, Make up, Nails, and getting all the Favors and Alcohol to the Venue on time.
I hope I don't regret having a "real" wedding and not just running off somewhere and getting married.

The Proposal

We'd Been talking about getting married for months. We even went to look at Venues before we were officially engaged. Then before we knew it we had booked a venue. Josh had asked me multiple times to Marry him and I kept telling him no, I actually said " I'll Marry you when you ask me properly". I don't know exactly how things got put into motion but we were just looking and thinking about getting married next Fall. Now here we are.

He proposed (officially) on June 30, 2008. I had been in Huntsville, Alabama on Business for 3 weeks. I was exhausted, and I had just come home the day before. That Morning I had gotten up and gone to work like any other morning, and like any other day when I got home from work the first thing I did was say hello, give him a kiss, and head upstairs to change. I walked into the bathroom and there were candles on the counter by the sinks. I was confused as to what was going on so I turned around to back downstairs, and he was standing there, so I asked what the candles were for. About that time I turned around and noticed the tub was full of water and bubbles and there were also candles all around. I melted. He put his hand in his pocket pulled out the box and said "will you marry me" with the cutest smile he could muster. At this point I was almost in tears. Then I noticed the box was blue. My eyes got so big, I read the Top and sure enough it said " Tiffany &Co. " I got even more excited as he pulled the interior box out and opened it up. Inside was the perfect ring, with the perfect sized diamond. It's beautiful and I love it. I feel like the Luckiest girl in the world, and I'm so happy. He is amazing when it comes to picking stuff out for me. He even picked out the wedding bands and they are beautiful. I have never been happier in my life.

438 Days Left

Josh and I are engaged. It was Official on 6/30/08 Even if we had already set our date, booked our Venue, and had 2 meetings with our wedding planner. It's official now and I'm happy. For those of you that don't want to take the time to to do the Math we're Getting Married on September 19, 2009. Which seems so far away but as I keep trying to line up DJ's and Photographers, Florists, and other Vendors I am finding out It's a good thing I got a jump start on this planning thing otherwise I'd be SOL. My Future Mother in Law thought I was crazy for Booking my Venue back in May but, It's a good thing I did because it's now completely booked for September.

We're getting married at this adorable little place in San Marcos, CA. It fits us perfectly because a church was out of the question and a big fancy hotel is just too much for us. We're Pretty informal people so that would have made us uncomfortable. So we found this place that's Just a cute little School House in the middle of this adorable Garden Setting. There are gorgeous Trees everywhere and the Reception will be held in a beautiful Tented Pavillion. I can't wait to get a picture of what my tables are going to look like. I'm still finalizing details such as colors, and number of attendants but I'm sure that it will all come into play here soon. I can't wait to have more details.
